Video Projector Screens

A Review of Video Projector Screens
When you are going to buy a home theater and video projector screens, just keep in mind that video projector screens are just as important as the project itself. There are different prices, sizes and fabrics of projector screens depending upon what your needs are.
The factors on which the efficiency if video projector screens depend are the quality of projector, the viewing angle, the distance of projector from screen and the amount of ambient light in room. All these things must be kept in mind before judging the quality of careens.
Mostly white or grey video projector screens are used to avoid any discoloration effect to the image. Curved and fat screens are also used depending upon the optics that are being used to project images and the accuracy of projected image. Mostly flat screens are used. Front or back projection screen are also available depending upon the image source suited on the side of screen and that of audience.
Before buying the projector screen just have a good look at the room where you are going to place the screen and make sure that the factors that may affect the projection image quality are absent like ambient light and small wall size or wall colour.
The projector-to-screen distance determines how large an image can be projected on the screen, while the viewer seating position determines the optimum viewing distance. Some manufacturers also provide this same information on their websites (check the Panasonic example below), which can be consulted before purchasing a video projector.
Due to the popularity of widescreen DVD and HDTV, the trend in video projection screens is towards the 16×9 aspect ratio design. Although video projectors designated as Home Theater or Home Cinema Projectors project a 16×9 native aspect ratio image, they can be configured for 4×3 displays.
Video projectors can be used to project an image from either the front or rear of the screen. Front projection is the most common, and the easiest to setup. This setup should only be done in very large rooms, where this may not be as much of an issue. Also, it must be noted that you must purchase a screen that is designed specifically for rear projection use. If you are planning to construct or use a room as a dedicated home theater room, you have the option of installing a screen on the wall permanently.
